In the April issue of LETTERBOX, we raised concerns about the T2 bus lane between Kamo and the CBD, following criticism from businesses affected by the changes. We asked Brad Flower, Chairman of the Whangārei District Council (WDC) Infrastructure Committee, for an update on the project. Here is his response:
“In relation to the T2 lane Query. We have requested a
review of the T2 lane to look at:
·
What was the original purpose and what the
measurable benefits would be.
o Have
the benefits been measured?
o What
were the results?
·
If the T2 lane is a success – can it be
proved?
·
If the T2 lane is not a success – why isn’t
it?
·
Are there any proposed changes to be made?
o If
so, what are they?
o What
additional measurable benefit would there be?
o What
would the cost be?
·
What are the project costs to date?
I am anticipating the review will be ready to present to
the September or October Infrastructure meeting.”
