Readers write - responsibility not insensibility

After the contents of the last newsletter, I had to knock out a suitable poem.

Responsibility Not Insensibility

It seems we have a problem, right here in the North

It concerns both WDC and NRC,

they just aren’t showing their worth.

As a wise man once told me,

take away the open cheque book.

It seems council members hide away,

they need to get out and look.

Ask those whose rates money is poorly managed by those in power.

We all depend on the councillors, elected to manage this city of ours.

The money pit is not bottomless,

this warning they should heed.

Citizens are suffering,

worse every day and are in dire need.

It’s time democracy became the councils’ guiding light.

They cannot hijack the democratic system; it’s just not right.

For some reason why, I do not know, the voting system is askew.

Instead of all the grand designs, they should listen to me and you.

Tell me please, why do we vote white and brown, after all, we are citizens, all living in the same town.

October ’25, a special time will be, if we all vote, then wait and see.

New blood is needed to chase out the drones, then we may all agree.

The NRC have a problem all of its own; they are playing with fire.

They may find the voters, the present council no longer desire.

So, think long and hard and make your vote count well.

If we all take notice of who is best for the job, HEY RING THE BELL.
