Ironically, in October 2020 Mark Vincent had little regard for democracy when he voted in favour of introducing a Māori ward on the KDC, without first consulting the wider community. Clearly, he doesn’t think electors should have a say in how they elect their representatives.
It is appropriate for Cr Mark
Vincent to brand himself as Mickey Mouse; other councillors should do likewise.
That includes Wairoa Ward Cr Eryn Wilson-Collins and several councillors on the
Whangarei District and Northland Regional councils who all share Cr Vincent’s
Mickey Mouse views about local democracy.
